clients with a full week of Pilates reformer exercises. For those of you who don’t know or haven’t
yet to experience the reformer, let me start with what is the Pilates
reformer? It is a bed-like frame with a
flat platform on it called a carriage, which rolls back and forth on wheels
that are attached to the frame. The carriage is attached to one end of the
reformer by a set of springs or cords that provide resistance as the carriage
is pushed or pulled along the frame.
The Pilates reformer is a total body strengthening and
cardio machine, with usage of the foot bar, straps and the rebounder, you will
never get bored and it even can stretch you out. The reformers are adjustable to accommodate
different body sizes and different skill levels. The reformer can be used lying down, sitting,
standing, pulling the straps, pushing the foot bar and the list goes on.
I recently have incorporated Pilates training into my
exercise routine because I noticed that I had lost some flexibility and I
wanted to look longer and leaner. I
since have noticed, less back pain, better posture and my overall movement was more
fluid. My clients were impressed with the Pilates reformer and
its effectiveness for strength training, so if you want to switch things up
bit, enroll in a Pilates reformer class and feel the benefits for yourself.
